In the same week I have created a blog and twitter.
Oh my!
Once upon a time I had a blog - actually I've had two. One was on some strange website that was popular in middle school and I shudder when I think of what I must have written there, and the other was here on blogger. The second was much better and was intended for a place for me to communicate with students during my student teaching adventure to New Zealand. I've since deleted it.
But now, onto this one! This one is real. This is real life. Seeking balance is something that I am constantly after. Balance is my favorite word and my way of life. Hence the blog name.
No, I'm not so good at yoga...yet.
I'm excited to begin this blogging journey for real. To write and read and share with others.
KCS
...my initials now stand for Kristina Clements...Sanborn (oh the married life...)
My name. Bilancia, actually means "balance." Balance and Harmony. Hopefully that means I'm well-balanced. :-) Yes, balance in all things: time, priorities, diet, exercise...Just got off the treadmill. Three solid miles. Wish I had done more, but there it is, balancing time. Really working hard on the diet. Doing well so far. Trying to work off that awful belly fat. Cutting down seriously on the sweets. Been making Nutri-Bullet smoothies with fruits, veggies, seeds... :-) Hope your year is off to a good start and that married life is treating you well so far. Happy writing. :-)
ReplyDeleteI am jealous of your name! Mine comes from a Christian origin as far as I know, meaning "to be merciful" I suppose that's not a bad thing either, but I would love to have my favorite word instead.
DeleteGo you! I would like to buy a treadmill - my 5am jog is getting difficult as it gets darker (despite flashlights and a light up vest, I still can't judge pot holes well). It is such a balance to want to do more and realize when it is time to rest. I'm struggling a bit this year with the schedule juggling and the fact that married life takes adjusting! We are so happy, yet realizing that just because we are married doesn't mean that our schedules know that and accomodate bi-weekly dinners together - work and meetings are getting in the way.
Balance. Bilancia. Balance
Send along smoothie recipes! I am a fan of Dr. Oz's breakfast smoothie (1cup almond milk, 1/2 cup berries, 1/2 banana, 2tbs protein powder, 2tbs flax seeds)
Kris--I know that you are an "over-achiever," so the balance thing must be hard to keep up with. I have a similar problem. People at school have been asking me to do things, and I keep saying yes. I don't think I am over-extended yet, but I might want to slow down a little. I need to remember BALANCE! And James--that is very interesting about your name!
ReplyDeleteGuilty. You've got me pegged Karla! I am a bit of an "over-achiever" and it doesn't always help me balance. My issue is that I can't help but have high expectations for myself to be able to do everything. I think if I work on maintaining a high expectation for personal balance, it might help.
DeleteSometimes it feels like the world balance is helped along by the word "no" - at least for "yes people" like us.
I wish you luck, I'm having trouble with "no" too.
We will get there, maybe with some yoga added to the mix!
Looking forward to reading your blog! You're very entertaining. Speaking of smoothies- I love a green smoothie that has about 1 cup of green grapes, 1/2 cup pineapple, 1/2 banana, 2 cups spinach, 1/2 cup water. It's delicious!
